Alex Day Reads Twilight! (Best Youtube Video Ever.)
After you watch these videos you'll understand why I like them so much (and really, how much better do you get than videos that start with a girl with random fuzzy balls in her glasses and a marching wind-up toy robot?):
Strange Commercials Part 2
Okay, so here's another blog post about strange commercials after the "Hooker's Furniture" store one.. First off is EA Active. I just saw the commercial for it and I honestly though it was for the bowflex or something until I noticed that the lady was holding a Wii Mote.. I wasn't looking at the tv, and you know how when you've seen commercials before and you just hear it then know which one it is? Yeah, I did one of those. Or so I thought.. So apparently EA Sports is trying to confuse people into thinking they're buying a bowflex? Anyway.. Then I saw a commercial for James Patterson (BEST AUTHOR EVER. Wrote/is writing the Maximium Ride series. If you don't know what that is then you have to read it, even if you don't like reading. I let Anna borrow one of the books from the series last year for that daily reading thing and she actually read the whole thing. That's saying something.) advertising the next book in the Alex Cross series (Anna also read a book from that series for English, I'm just good at this book recommendation thing). He's got this thing with series..es.. apparently.. I don't think he actually has too many books that aren't part of a series.. Anyway. So it's weird when books get advertised on TV in the first place. It's like when they advertise MMORPG's on TV (things like World of Warcraft for anyone who doesn't know what an MMORPG is. It stands for Massive Multi-player Online Role Playing Game.. I'm using a lot of parenthesis..es.. today.. I'm also picking a lot of words that are hard to make plural..), it's just weird. (Isn't my work with the font tools pretty?! I bolded the letters that make MMORPG in the words.. Yay helpfullness!). Anyway, so he was advertising it and all I hear is "You should buy the next Alex Cross book, or I'm going to KILL OFF Alex.". And I was thinking to myself "Well, that's a new and interesting way to advertise a book..". It's a tactic that might actually work because his Alex Cross series is actually a pretty long running and popular series. Run longer than 98% of the people reading this blog post have been alive... I think the first one came out in like 1992? Maybe 93, but early that time. So.. yes. It was strange. Anyway, you all should be happy because this is two blog posts in one day in a span of less than 12 hours, so yay for you! I might post another one later tonight or early tomorrow (and by early I mean when I get around to getting up).
So for now everyone, Stay Frosty. And Happy Thanksgiving again!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Does anyone else find a furniture store by the name of "Hooker's Furniture" amusing? Or is it just me? Also, there's a brand of furniture conveniently named "Hooker Furniture". So be sure to go buy some Hooker brand furniture from Hooker's Furniture, today!
Happy Thanksgiving! And Stay Frosty.

This is a Little Weird
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGCJ46vyR9o
It's kind of depressing.. But in other news, report cards are coming out tomorrow! There's a little bit of surprise in it for me, but I
do know that I did well this time. It's like a whole great debate on what my english grade will actually be.. But I guess we'll see
when the time comes. I can't wait though, I'm gonna be getting TWO new video games on Wednesday, yay for good grades! So
what did you guys get on your report cards? You can comment this today or tomorrow. Other than that I don't really have too much
to say.. OH. Here's something interesting for you all to think about. We all know that Christmas is coming up soon, and there's always
that dreaded "so what DO you want for Christmas?" question, it's almost as bad as when you're asked what you want for dinner.
So I'm not sure at all other than possibly asking for a few PS3 games, some movies, and a Spiderman iDog (the venom one and
the traditional one). So what do you guys think I should get? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Stay Frosty!
P.S. I bet you're uber impressed with the fancy hyperlinking I did. =]

Screen Shots! Explinations and a Start of a New Trend(?)
So, screen shots. I don't know if anyone really knows what those are. So I guess I'll give my quick explination...
Screen shots are when you see something funny on the computer and either use a program or some computer short cut
(there's some combination of keys you can press which will allow you to "capture" the whole screen and save it as an image.
. It's like in the sims when you can zoom in and take screen shots of them wetting themselves because you deleted all the
toilets in the house or something..) to basically take a picture of the screen. It comes out a lot better than taking a
picture with your phone, and it's also a lot faster because then you don't have to wait five minutes for your phone do
send the message to your email and then you have to open it and save it and then re-upload it to whatever site you want
(and yes, you can text things to your email by the way. It's for the same charge as sending to it another phone, at least
for Verizon). Personally the program I use is MW Snap and you can feel free to look it up and download it if screen
shots seem like something you'd be interested in doing after everything is all said and done. I'd appreciate if you
could give me some credit, because I start a bunch of trends all the time and no one ever gives me credit for
anything so it'd be nice to be able to show someone something written on the internet (screenshot?!?!?!) and say
"HA. SEE YOU IGNORANT PERSON WHO DIDN'T BELIEVE ME. I STARTED IT.". Unless you manage to screen shoot (is that correct?)
something that gets you arrested or killed. Then I have nothing to do with it and you are a complete and utter liar.
Who are you reading my blog person that I do not know and do not associate myself with in any way, shape, or form?
Anyway. Screen shots. So after you take the picture sometimes people will upload the image into paint and write a
comment/circle the funny parts. This is particularly helpful when it's something on a web page and there's a lot of
text that you might not want people to have to waste time reading through. Basically it's like shortening a really long
joke and highlighting the punchline for lazy people. In the interest of trying to get everyone to completely understand
screenshots I will upload an example of this, something taken with MW Snap that I then opened in paint and wrote comments
on/circled things, in case anyone got lost and couldn't comprehend that. But let me finish the screen shot process first.
So after you make you oh so snarky sarcastic comments you can then upload your screen shot to a photo sharing website such
as Flickr or PHOTOBUCKET (hint, hint interblog advertising free publicity for the site that I use bold bold itilaics)
and use their easy to copy and paste, slightly harder to get rid of any links to their site that you don't want but still
fairly not difficult (delete anything that says "aherf=" is a good way to do it.. That deletes the link, then you can just
scan the areas around that to find any possible text that was used as the link until you deleted the actual link part..
As for images I think you'd want to delete "img sync" or something.. Or if you look in the url (the part that looks like
what you type in when you want to get to a website.. www.website.com or what have you) and it says something along
the lines of "img" or the company's name in what comes after the = sign then that's probably the image. Or you can just
copy and paste it into the browser to make sure.. If anyone wants any help with this you can message me or something,
because I'm getting besides the point of this post. Anyway, so then you can copy and paste the code with your lovely
wonderfully witty humorous intelligent comment and you now have your screen shot on your website. So I'm going to
follow this method completely (getting the screen shot, uploading it to paint and making comments, uploading it to
PHOTOBUCKET, and copy/pasting it onto my blog..ness) so that everyone can see all of the steps. Now the paint comments
are optional and I guess the uploading to a photosharing site could be optional too because I'm sure there's some ways
to get it right off your computer, I just find that it's a lot easier to upload it to a photo hosting site such as
PHOTOBUCKET because in the long run t makes things easier. And of course you don't have to paste it to a blog either,
but then what would the fun of taking the screen shot be?
First Screen Shot!:
Second:
Now for some reason I can't post the picture directly to the blog full sized,
then again I guess that's fine because the pictures are really big anyway..
So what these links are for is that they're direct links to those pictures
in my PHOTOBUCKET album. So when you get to the album you're going to want to make sure
you're looking at the pictures at 100% size so you can see all of the writing
in the picture. If anyone has an account on PHOTOBUCKET you can feel free to add me or whatever..
Subscribe to my pictures? Can you friend request people on PHOTOBUCKET? It seems
like there's a friend request option everywhere now a days.. But anyway, you can figure that out.
My deed is done, here is your nice shiney new blog post now with pretty colorful pictures! Kind of..
You can expect to see more screen shots up soon. See that album that says "Private Screen Shots"?
Well those are screen shots that I'm planning on uploading to the site and I put them in an album that
only I can see, so no one can go poking around in there.. Happy waiting.. =]

Samsung and Microsoft Team Up: Making of a Technological Mafia
Today on some random Andriod obsessed, excuse me.. "themed", site (for anyone who doesn't know Andriod is the ever popular Google operating system that many phone are now adopting, including my own.. Hence the "Droid".. Yay for making connections!) I learned that Samsung (makers of my old phone for anyone keeping score) is developing a new operating system called "Bada". For your daily Asian lesson, "Bada" is an abbreviation for ocean in Korean.. Well Samsung is teaming up with Microsoft (hopefully we all know who/what that is) on this operating system. It's being supported by "Bing" services, yes that search engine from the commercials. SO together the two make Bada Bing. Sit back, relax, and watching the unfolding of the cell phone mafia.

Something Strange About Swine Flu
I've officially found proof that the media are making swine flu out to be a bigger deal than it really is. First off more people die of the "regular" flu every year than have died of swine flu since 1976. Yeah you read it right, 1976. The media has been making it out to be some next-black-plauge thing that's a complete mystery and no one knows anything about. But the first recorded major outbreak of swine flu was dated all the way back in 1976. They even had vaccinations for it. But swine flu really came on the scene in 1918. So why it took so long to get vaccinations out who knows, it certainly hasn't mutated since then. Possibly a drug company scheme to frenzy people into demanding the swine flu vaccination, I wouldn't really put it past them. It's all about money for them. There have been documented cases of drug companies basically making up diseases and syndromes and releasing pills for them, knowing that doctors only really give their patients medicine based on what the companies say. Anyway, I digress. The only thing that really bothers me is how they're making swine flu out to be the end all, be all of diseases when it's been around for a really long time, most people get better on their own anyway, more people die of the regular flu, and anyone who has died of swine flu died mostly of preexisting conditions rather than the actual flu.

An Insult to Any Apple Fan
Long story short I got an iTunes gift card as a.. um.. gift.. and I tried to redeem it and it's not working. So I sent a letter to Apple Support and this is what I got:
Customer First Name : Jamie
Customer Last Name : Doerschuck

Web Order # :
Support Subject : iTunes Cards and Codes
Sub Issue : Redemption questions
See additional info below
OS version: Windows XPSP2+

Specific request: My code is inactive or invalid
Activations code: xxcv5jlrhysw2gt3
iTunes Gift Card Serial Number: gca004098188061
Purchased from:
Details:
This is a 15 dollar iTunes gift certificate that I got in the mail as a gift from my aunt. I guess she bought this within the past two weeks or so because I got the letter two or three days ago. She lives in Garden City, New York so it was purchased in that area. I tried to redeem it today and it comes up with the "This code is invalid" message every time. I've tried replacing any letters I was unsure about (really only the 5), with another (an S), but that didn't work either. I scratched off the backing further and I compared the 5 and the S which appears later in the code and I now that the 5 is actually a 5.
So that was the message I sent. I got this:
Hi Jamie,
Rachel here from the iTunes Store. I see you've had a bit of trouble in redeeming your gift card. I understand how frustrating it can be when you can't quite make out activation codes, so I'll be more than happy to help you with this!
Unfortunately, like you, I was unable to locate your activation code using the information you provided in your last email.
If you're not sure how to redeem your iTunes Gift Card code, this article will walk you through the process:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1574
Make sure you entered your code exactly as it appears on your card. The following letters and numbers can look very similar:
* The letter A and the letter H
* The letter B and the number 8
* The letter D and the number 0
* The letter E and the number 3
* The letter G and the number 6
* The letter H and the letter W
* The letter J and the number 1
* The letter M and the letter N
* The letter O and the number 0
* The letter P and the letter F
* The letter Q and the letter O
* The letter Q and the number 0
* The letter S and the number 5
* The letter S and the number 8
* The letter V and the letter U
* The letter Z and the number 2
If you still receive an error, I still may be able to help if you can give me one of the following special numbers from the back of your card.
One number that usually appears on iTunes Gift Cards is the GCA number. It starts with "GCA" and is followed by 8 or 13 digits. (Example: GCA12345678 or GCA0001234567891)
A different number you may see starts with PBH followed by a 6 and either 19 or 22 digits. (Example: PBH6123456789123456789 or PBH6123456789123456789012)
Another number that may appear begins with a 6, is 16 digits long, and has a space every 4 digits. (Example: 6123 4567 8901 2345)
If you can find one of these types of numbers on the back of your card, please include it in your response.
If your card does not have any of these numbers, I'll need to see some photocopies of the card itself. I'll also need to see the receipt. Please fax the following to the iTunes Store at 1-800-903-4356:
- A cover sheet addressed to iTunes Store Customer Support. On this sheet, write your name, email address, and the number 87043310 (this is your follow-up number which is also in the subject line of this email).
- The sales receipt or gift receipt showing the purchase of the iTunes Gift Card.
- Legible photocopies of the front and back of the card.
If you're unable to send a fax, you may scan the sales or gift receipt and the front and back of the card and attach the images to your response to this email.
Note that if you do not have the sales receipt or gift receipt for the iTunes Gift Card, it may be possible to obtain a replacement iTunes Gift Card from the store at which the card was purchased. If the store personnel are unable to replace the card itself, they may be able to reprint the receipt for you. Then you can fax or email the receipt and the card to the iTunes Store as described above. Unless you provide a receipt, the iTunes Store will be unable to assist.
Thank you so much for your patience, Jamie, and I look forward to your reply so that I can get you back to enjoying your iTunes Gift Card as soon as possible!
Cheers!
Rachel

MagicJack!
Anyone who wants to call me finally can! As some of know and some of us don't, my cell phone doesn't work too well in my room because... Well I don't know why. But I just got a MagicJack today so now I can talk on the phone =] The number is (215) 666-5163. You can add it to your cellphones as mobile 2 or something.. As of right now I can't take calls because the phone is still charging, but I should be able to by tomorrow. Yay MagicJack!

Shuffling Blogs Like a Deck of Cards
I think I'm going to officially discontinue my Myspace blog because I'm having such a hard time getting it to sync with Facebook. It also doesn't help that most of my readers now read my blog from Facebook, or the small part of it that they can access anyway. So it's in my best interest to just do it here. You can either check it here, which I'd honestly rather just because Blogger is so cool and it makes you look slightly less loserish if there's something else in your broswer history besides Facebook (or Myspace for my creative special original friends out there). So you can all now thank me for making you cooler! Yayy! And hopefully this updates completely onto Facebook.
Guess we'll find out.
